Believe it or not, the beaver is actually a rodent. Composed of two different species, the North American beaver and the Eurasian beaver, this mammal with incisor teeth can be found throughout Canada and the continental United States, as well as parts of Europe and Asia. They are known for their natural ability to build dams in rivers and streams, which are their homes, thus creating reservoirs that block the flow of water.
